If I’m not out of a Friday or Saturday night, I’m usually quite happy on the couch with a glass of wine online (window) shopping.
Last week, for example, after going waaaaay down a Pinterest wormhole, I suddenly needed a light blue cape/coat for winter.
I pinned my favourites, surfed all my favourite online stores and – hey presto! – soon had a list of umpteen variations of ‘light blue’ and ‘coat’, including delightful examples in: boiled wool, classic cape and cocoon-shape. All have been dutifully book marked for later perusal.
So, imagine my joy when, after opening the wardrobe where I keep some of my archive pieces (think: fancy dresses, vintage furs, coats etc…), I discovered a LIGHT BLUE CAPE/COAT staring back at me. It turns out I bought it on Etsy two years ago and promptly interned it into the recesses of a wardrobe (yes, I have several – but that’s another story…)
From memory, I planned on shortening the hem and perhaps making it into a scallop pattern (it might still happen) and because the plans never eventuated, it just kept getting pushed to the back. Happy birthday/merry christmas/happy hanukkah to me!
Don’t you love the joy of discovering something you thought had been thrown out or lost? Or in my case, forgot you even bought!
