Beauty Review: Micellar Water

Micellar Water Beauty Review

I love to use micellar water to remove makeup before cleansing, and cleansing again. Double cleansing for life.

Here’s a round up of some great micellar waters on the market right now, with honest, unbiased reviews. Some of the items have been gifted for review, but it’s not sponsored so you can rest assured what you are reading is a true opinion. Onwards!

1. NIVEA Micellar Water ‘Soothing’

NIVEA Micellar Water ‘Soothing’ stands out as an excellent choice for sensitive skin. It’s incredibly easy to use, and thanks to the gentle formula, I experienced no irritation, even around the eyes. The added Amino Acid Complex and Dexpanthenol make it even more soothing and nourishing, while the lack of perfume makes it perfect for sensitive skin types. By far, this is the best product out of the five I’ve tried—effective, non-irritating, and leaves the skin feeling refreshed.

2. bioten Micellar Water ‘HYALURONIC GOLD’

bioten Micellar Water ‘HYALURONIC GOLD’ is a solid option for those looking to remove waterproof makeup without the hassle. It’s gentle on the skin, and after use, my skin feels soft and hydrated, likely due to the Hyaluronic Acid and Golden Proteins in the formula. The inclusion of prebiotics is intriguing, though I’m not entirely sure what role they play in skincare. What I love most is the convenience—there’s no need to rinse, and it works perfectly on the face, eyes, and lips, making it an all-in-one solution.

3. essano Micellar Makeup Remover Hydration +

The essano Micellar Makeup Remover Hydration + is great on the skin but problematic around the eyes. When I used it to remove eye makeup, it stung slightly, which was disappointing. While the Rosehip and Hyaluronic Acid work wonders for hydration, I found that I had to use quite a bit of the product to fully remove my makeup. On the positive side, it’s vegan and cruelty-free, which is always a bonus for conscious beauty lovers.

4. Body Prescriptions Makeup Remover ‘Rose Water’

The Body Prescriptions Makeup Remover ‘Rose Water’ did an okay job of removing makeup, but unfortunately, it stung when I used it around my eyes. I didn’t read the warning and learned the hard way—it stung like hell! After that, I didn’t feel comfortable trusting it on the rest of my face. It’s decent for basic makeup removal, but I wouldn’t recommend it for sensitive areas like the eyes.

5. NIVEA Micellar Water ‘Caring’

NIVEA’s Micellar Water ‘Caring’ has a smooth and gentle formula, living up to its name. With the new formula, it feels even more nourishing on the skin, especially for dry skin types. The addition of Almond Oil makes it moisturizing, and the lack of perfume is ideal for sensitive skin. I did have to wipe a few times to completely remove my eye makeup, but there was no sting at all. Overall, it’s a solid choice for anyone with dry or sensitive skin looking for a gentle but effective micellar water.
