I coveted this Daughters of India dress for a long time before I bought it. To look at you might be thinking, why? It’s lovely but it’s not show stopping. I didn’t want a dress to wear to shows however, I wanted an every day dress in which I could just as easily run errands or chase after the girls. Something easy to clean, comfortable but elevated if you get my drift. And this dress, is all of those things.
Daughters of India is an Aussie label inspired by warm earthy hues, Indian prints, a love of vintage fashion, travel & a bohemian lifestyle.
Their garments are made in small factories within local villages just outside of the historic pink city, Jaipur, India.
What really stood out for me was how they balance ethically made clothes with keeping their prices competitive.
Fast fashion is easy for consumers because it is just that, fast and inexpensive. When it comes to ethical fashion, we understand the price tags can be daunting. So here at Daughters of India, we really strive to make shopping ethical an affordable experience.
Daughters of India
It’s hard to compete with fast fashion but more and more I’m seeing labels like Daughters of India breaking through to make an impact and impression. I’m hoping to bring you more of this kind of thing in future posts because I think it’s important to have these local brands on your radar.
