With Escher X Nendo currently on show at the National Gallery of Victoria(NGV), what better way to see it than…at night?
I popped along last week to see all that unfolds after dark at one of our city’s absolute treasures – and I can tell you it was a hive of activity.
Music, bars, dining and of course late night access to Escher X nendo | Between Two Worlds. What amazed me was the sheer amount of people there – you can’t tell from these photos but most of my viewing was done three people deep. We did arrive later at ‘peak’ viewing time, I’m told if you arrive on time (6pm start) you can have a pleasant time throughout the exhibition, and then party on down in the gardens.
If only you knew how entrancing, how stirringly beautiful the images in my head are, the ones I am unable to express.

If you like your exhibitions silent and solemn, this isn’t for you. If however you like to fuse your experience of art with a little bit of vino and some tunes, I would highly recommend NGV Friday Nights. Every Friday is a different line up, so make sure you check out their website for the full program details.
Behold all that is the gallery after dark, I promise you’ll love it!
