Work wear in summer? As the weather warms up it’s time to ditch the heavy coats, scarfs and boots in favour of a much lighter approach. But what to wear? Seeing the mercury creep towards 30 degrees might make you sweat just looking at that black suit.
There’s some great options available however that will see you waltzing into the office like a cool breeze and have everyone wondering how you look so chic. Forever New asked me to come in store and see what I could put together – would it be possible to find a dress, pants and tops perfect to to wear to work? I said, I’ll do you one better and put a head to toe look together!
So here’s some great workwear options for Summer and beyond, behold…
The Light Suit
While these light blue co-ordinates are the perfect summer suit, how wonderful would they be as separates? You could easily throw the jacket over black pants if you need a more corporate look, or whip off the jacket and wear with a blouse. Check out a great range of jackets here.
I love it together though, isn’t the colour heavenly? Here I’ve paired it with a white tee for a more casual look. If blue is just a step too far, you could try light grey, millenial pink or snapppy check.

The Dress
It’s an outfit in itself right? From a black shift or wrap dress to something more bright, the benefit of wearing a frock in summer is 10 fold. If need be you can wear it with a jacket or scarf, or with bare legs and slides on casual Fridays for a look at says, ‘Can’t talk, booking flights to Ibiza.’
I absolutely love wearing a dress and my tips for summer are to look for a lightweight fabric like cotton, linen, rayon or silk. Breathable fabrics are really what you’re looking for.
