Louis Vuitton, Time Capsule Exhibition
Launching exclusively at Chadstone The Fashion Capital on Saturday 24 February and running until 21 March 2018, the exhibition will take visitors on a journey through the history of the house. Having travelled to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok, Berlin, Singapore and Dubai it’s quite a coup that it lands here on our shore during international fashion weeks. Who needs Paris – we’ve got Chadstone!
The exhibition will have a truly Australian feel displaying key pieces including former Australian Cricket Captain, Michael Clarke’s cricket trunk; the 2015 Rugby World Cup Trunk; and Mrs. Lloyd Jones’ (wife of David Jones) Trunk. Guests will also enjoy viewing the Louis Vuitton French Artisans attending to their craft to create the celebrated works of art and iconic pieces.
If you love fashion and have seen recent exhibitions such at the Dior and Viktor & Rolf at the NGV, it’s absolutely worth a look. It’s much smaller and focusses on the artisan aspect and history of Louis Vuitton, rather than being strictly about fashion. Still, it’s an inside look at a part of the luxury world you would otherwise never see and for that reason, is fascinating.
Time Capsule will be open Monday – Wednesday from 9am – 5pm, Thursday – Saturday from 9am – 9pm and on Sunday from10am – 7pm and will be free of charge to Chadstone visitors.
