As the seasons change, does your makeup application? I like to wear a little bit less makeup in summer, particularly under a blazing Australian sun that will have your perfect contouring sliding sideways in moments.
That said, autumn is still fairly warm down under depending on where you live. With that in mind here’s some beautiful products that have come across my desk in recent months that are perfect for a warmer climate and beyond. And don’t be afraid if you live in the snow – there’s no rules here at Lady M!
A ‘basic’ face using Jane Iredale’s ‘Dream Tint Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15’ in medium light, Nu Colour concealer in Vanilla Beige. and finished with Nude by Nature’s Mineral Cover in Light/Medium. I really love this mineral powder, you can layer it up for flawless coverage, or dust it on to set your moisturiser. I love versatility in makeup, so this product definitely ticked all boxes. I’ve also added a touch of my fav Nars bronzer just to give a little colour to my cheeks.Everyone raves about Benefits ‘Gimme Brow’ but what’s it actually like to use? With easy application, the brush is small, virtually the width of your brow and you just sweep it on as though you were using a brow brush. I ended up colouring outside the lines (!) and had to clean up with a cotton tip, but aside from that I’m pretty happy with how they look as you can see below. It’s the kind of product that’s great on the go or for travelling.
The Nu Colour ‘Lightshine Eyeshadow Palette’ in Coral Reef and my new fav fragrance ‘Gypsy Water’ by Byredo. This palette is designed to be used left to right with a layering technique to create a smokey eye. You can also use each colour separately and the lightest shade is a highlighter that really defines your brow line or inner eye area.
Finish the look with Nu Colour ‘Contouring Lip Gloss’ in Tender Beige. This is a glassy, hi-shine finish and looks amazing in sunlight! I’ve really taken to this gloss, it pretty much lives in my handbag these days and I feel like it goes with pretty much any and every makeup look I’m wearing.There you go! The finished ‘face’ using only a handful of products. Simple and easy to apply, you could wear this look all season long.
