I gingerly pulled out a pair of jeans from the draw. I’d given birth, bounced back fairly well due to a baby who breastfeeds at any waking moment, and holding them up they looked like they’d fit. Sort of.
I chose the pair that I knew fit me when I was carrying a couple extra kilos before pregnancy – you know the pair, what ever you’ve been eating or guzzling you know they’ll fit you. The one’s that fit me when I’m running 12kms a week and not drinking sav blanc every night? They’re still at the bottom of the draw.
I digress, wanting to get out of my super comfortable and flattering maternity jeans (for fear that I would never stop wearing them and their ridiculously large gusset that is supposed to fit over a heavily pregnant belly) I put these on. And they fit – big sigh of relief! They don’t fit the same way as they did before, but they’re on and that’s the main thing!
