A box turned up in the mail a couple of months back with a note about how much I was going to love these products. Presumptuous? Perhaps, but it’s not uncommon for beauty brands to espouse lines telling you that ‘this product will change your life’, or ‘that product will make you look younger and/ or thinner’. I’ve seen it all in my career.
Cynicism aside, there’s a difference between the assurance that a beauty product will ‘change your life’, and simply loving it. I haven’t made a habit over the years of writing reviews of things I don’t love – what’s the point? Most of the time if I love something, it’s because it works in a way that’s an effective part of your beauty routine.
So: Marula Oil. Yet another to add to the list after Rosehip, Moroccan and Argan. And I’ve tried those with varying degrees of results and mostly have reported that I liked the smell. Was Marula going to be any different?
I’m not sure entirely whether it’s the shampoo or my left-over pregnancy hormones, but as you can see in these photos after using the products, my hair does look super shiny. There’s no Photoshop or retouching in these pictures either, I just stood outside in the sunlight. I haven’t used the conditioner because I never do, but the shampoo and light oil is just lovely and guess what? Smells bloody good as well. Funny that about hair oils!
Would I recommend it? I don’t see why not, it’s got a lovely feel, you don’t need to use too much of it, it smells lovely and so far I’m pleased with how shiny my hair looks.
So yes, give it a go and worst case scenario you’re going to smell damn fine.
