Travel Homewares Diary : New York

Curious homewears found on Lady Melbourne's travels

It’s a grey, overcast day here in Melbourne town, not ideal for naturally-lit photography.

I was upstairs busily arranging some self-portraiture ideas but, try as I might, couldn’t get a satisfactory punchiness with the available light. Note to self: get your home studio, complete with gorgeous light-throwing soft-boxes, sorted!

Instead, I changed tack, opting to focus on some still-life shots featuring some treasures sourced from a trip to New York.

The forecast for the next few days is for spring sun, so I’ll put the outfits on hold till then – or until I can clear up the spare room, create a flat-white cyclorama against one wall and convince the husband we could do with a massive, hovering soft-box contraption.
