Last year’s opening parade saw Little Bourke Street in the Melbourne CBD shut down and turned into a runway, and it happened again last Friday for this year’s parade.
The theme being ‘urban garden,’ saw models emerge from an enchanted garden setting, complete with wrought iron gates and overgrown vines. It wouldn’t have been out of place in ‘The Secret Garden’ which I suppose was the point, as this was carried on throughout the entire setting of the parade.
Below are my highlights, I know it’s unfair to compare apples with apples but there was something absolutely magical about last year, perhaps because it was a new concept? Still it was exciting to see the city come alive with one of it’s busiest streets being transformed into a runway.
