Coming to you all the way from London is this delight from the label Jack French London. The brand takes pride in naming its bags after fashionable London destinations, this one being ‘The Clapham’ in petrol lizard. Cute no? Featuring a chain link shoulder strap with leather shoulder pad, polished gold tone hardware and the cutest gold protective feet – not that you would ever put a bag like this on the floor now!
Makes me think of that time when The Gardener and I were in Hong Kong a couple of years ago, dining at Restuarant Petrus for breakfast. I was seated and went to put my bag on the plush, carpeted floor, but before I knew it a waiter appeared from nowhere with a tiny stool, specifically for my handbag and placed it next to my chair. It was quite ridiculous, and I loved every minute of it.
I digress, I was quite taken with the Jack French’s nostalgic charm for memorable spots in and around London (my home town for a while there) coupled with the luxury finish and high grade leather. It’s a step outside my comfort zone choosing ‘petrol’ or teal in that I don’t own a single bag in this colour. But thought I, if not now then when better to introduce a little bit of luxury into my life?
