I do love a good easy way to apply makeup, that looks amazing – immediately!
While spending hours in front of the mirror getting ready is (for some) pure luxury, most of us just don’t have the time.
With that in mind, I’m always on the look out for products that are camera ready, but don’t take a lot of time to apply. Four new products from Napoleon Perdis came across my desk and I thought I’d road test them to see if they could pass the Lady Melbourne ’10-minute-ready’ test.
While you might raise an eyebrow at the thought you could apply winged eyeliner with a complete face of makeup in 10 minutes, I can tell you with the right products, you can.
A good quality felt tip with liquid liner means you are basically drawing onto your face with a lot more control than say, a brush or pencil. If you love to get a really thin and precise flick at the end of your liner, a precision tip is important.
That’s my two cents worth folks, let’s see how I go with the 10 minute challenge!
Aside from the Napoleon products, I’ve also used my go-to base which is ‘Models Prefer CC Colour Correcting’ cream from Priceline. It’s so good I even used it on my wedding day! I also love Ottoman3 brow products, especially their powder pencil in soft brown. In this photo is all the products I’ve used on my face in this post.I’ve used the Napoleon Perdis ‘Nude-U’ pallet as the base, and then high-lighted the rest of my features with the ‘Light Switch Luminizer Palette.’ You just use your fingers to pat the different shades on the parts of your face you wish to high light. Time: 1 minute for the CC cream, 1 minute for the Nude-U palette, 2 minutes for the Light Switch luminizer. All applied with my finger tips.
The ‘Matte Eye Ink’ liquid liner and the ‘Mesmer-Eyes’ mascara, both from Napoleon PerdisI like to start about 1/3 of the way from the outer corner of the eye, running along the top lid. I find it easier to control the ‘wand’ than drawing from the inside of the eye.Draw the shape you want before you ‘in-fill’ the wing. It’s much easier than trying to draw on one long, fat line. Time: 4 minutes in total for both eyes. The unique wand from the ‘Mesmer-Eyes’ mascara. It works almost like a paddle to distribute the mascara, then the fine combs distribute for a no clump effect. Time: 1 minute per eye.
