Many hilarious things can be overheard at fashion shows, media events and the like, and sometimes you’d be forgiven for thinking they’d been made up. Well, these are all true, and I may have just said some of them myself. Enjoy.
- ‘Where’s the bar?’ An alternative to this is ‘Where’s the champagne?’
- ‘What do you mean the champagnes not free?’ Everything is free at fashion events, no one would turn up otherwise.
- ‘The gift bag is crap.’ Said after exiting the fashion show after you’ve smiled sweetly and elbowed your counter part out the way to make sure you got the crap gift bag in the first place.
- ‘Is it gluten free?’ Coeliac is so chic right now.
- ‘What did you think of the show?’ said to whomever is nearest to you right after the catwalk show has ended, and whether it’s good or bad it’s pretty much always followed up with, ‘I loved it!’
- ‘What’s the hashtag for the event/party/launch?’ uttered upon entry to the nearest PR.
- ‘Uh-huh…mmm-hhmmm….really?’ said distractedly while uploading pictures to instagram.
- ‘OMG I love your bag/shoes/necklace/outfit!’ even if you don’t, but usually you do because most people wouldn’t dream of turning up without killer accessories.
- ‘Are you going to….’ Insert the chicest party of the year here. And if you’re not….
- ‘Oh I’m not, I’m going to be out of town, so unfortunate.’ Because if you’re not invited, you literally need to leave town.
