We all have to do it, get up out out bed on a Monday and cope with life. Whether you partied all weekend or spend it on a meditation retreat, psychologically Monday seems to be the toughest day of the week.
So how do you cope? Well here’s five tips for you to get you to the end of the day.
1. Drink a lot of water.
And when I say a lot, I mean two to three litres over the course of the day. While for some that might seem like an even more insurmountable challenge than leaving your doona behind, trust me when I say that when you are well hydrated you can function so much better.
2. Shop online.
It’s this simple: you order yourself flowers, cupcakes or a bottle of champagne at 9am for delivery by 5pm. It’s like a gift to yourself for getting through the day. You’re welcome.
3. Prioritise.
What do you really need to do today? Monday is notoriously the most unproductive day of the week, so think about what you must do as opposed to what you think you can do. If it doesn’t have to happen until Tuesday, leave it on the ‘To-Do’ list.
4. Cardio.
There’s a reason why boot camps begin at 6am on Mondays and it’s a little something called endorphins. If you can get 30 mins of continuous cardio in you will sweat out toxins, increase circulation and release endorphins which make you feel happy. Like a natural high. Not the kind you experienced on Saturday night.
5. Slow down.
In direct contrast to tip number four(why not?!) there is nothing worse than being in a rush first thing Monday morning. Give yourself an extra 10 minutes to get to work, run the errands, make breakfast or what ever it is you do with your time. You will have a clearer mind, less stress and might just be a little more productive than you think.
So over to you guys, what gets you through a Monday?
