Take an Alternative Walking Tour of Melbourne!

How well do you know your home city? Ever considered taking a walking tour?

I like to think I know all there is to know about shopping in Melbourne, but it was with great delight that I discovered a few gems on a recent Alternative Walking Tour of Melbourne.

As it was media tour, we did a combination of the Vintage High Tea and Vintage Lovers Tour, but if tea and frocks aren’t your thing there’s a bicycle tour and a record store one as well.

Starting in Melbourne’s iconic laneways, we visited Local Birds, Melbourne’s smallest coffee shop, discovered the cities smallest gallery (a glass box in a wall!) and had a peek inside Circa Vintage.

Then it was off to Brunswick Street Fitzroy where you’ll find a great mash up of Australian and international labels, as well as vintage stores, bars and cafes.

After poking around Hunter Gatherer and trying on custom made corsets at Emma’s Corsets, we ended up at Grace Café for a very generous and absolutely delicious high tea experience.

If you have ever wanted to discover a new side of Melbourne, or if you are a tourist wanting more than what the hotel guide tells you,  I would absolutely take an Alternative walking tour of this great city!
