Eight years after inception, Melbourne label Limedrop has opened its flagship store in the iconic Cathedral Arcade.
“I’ve always wanted a shop in the CBD,” founder Clea Garrick tells me. “Tourists have always responded really well to Limedrop and we’ve got a very Melbourne vibe to the clothing so we had to be in a central location.”
Within weeks of Alice Euphemia closing its doors after 17 years retailing in the Cathedral Arcade, Limedrop opened and Kuwaii is set to open shortly.
“People were really sad that Alice shut, but we’re still here flying the flag for Melbourne labels, and Kuwaii will be our neighbors shortly so all is not lost!” says Clea.
Currently showcasing a beautiful butterfly display that mirrors this seasons print for key pieces, the store is thriving not unlike a chrysalis emerging.
The arcade forms the ground floor for the iconic and much treasured Nicholas Building, home to artists and designers alike, and while we’ve seen a retail treasure in Alice Euphemia close, Limedrop is an exciting addition to Melbourne’s shopping scene and one well worth checking out.
