As I’ve been preoccupied with the racing season I’ve gotten to Big Love Monday a little bit late this week. However, as I’ve made one of my hats and a dress to wear, there’s been a lot of time to reflect while sitting in front of my sewing machine, or while I’m hand stitching finishing touches.
So I’m grateful this week for the ability to work with my hands and sew. Over the years it’s meant that I can do everything from simple alterations, to creating evening dresses. I’ve made the cushions on my couch, my curtains, pillowcases and over the years Christmas gifts or done alterations for friends.
It’s a simple skill but one that makes me happy because of all the amazing things it enables me to create. And for that, I am grateful.
