Melbourne Spring Fashion Week has come and gone for 2013 and I thought I would share with you some of the highlights I’ve seen for the week.
And there is a lot to see that’s for sure!
Nevenka
I love this Melbourne based label and I really think their collections just go from strength to strength.
These dresses made me audibly gasp, and while I accept that white lace may not be everyone’s cup of tea, for me they appeal to every sensibility I have when it comes to clothes.
Christine
Christine is such an iconic shop here in Melbourne, and while she doesn’t have stand alone parades ( in the main part because she is a stockist rather than designer) her part in the parades is always amazing.
Showing Lanvin, Rykiel, Philip Treacy and Etro to name but a few the outfits are always styled to perfection. I love it.
Limedrop
Melbourne label Limedrop just seem to kick goals with every collection they present and their SS 13 was no exception. I really loved the pastels as opposed to bright neons for summer and the skater skirt which is becoming a staple shape for them.
Kuwaii
Another of my favourite Melbourne brands, because they manufacture here which is no small feat, Kuwaii showed lovely soft pastels in custom prints.
Above
Again: audible gasps when I saw these hats stroll past me on the catwalk. The collection was of course witty and intelligent, but these hats were just fabulous and I’d love to get my hands on one to wear to the spring racing carnival.
Richard Nylon Millinery
Richard showed his ‘Green Universe’ collection which was inspired by Stephen Blackmore’s book called ‘Green Universe’. The book explores microscopic views of plants to look at their cellular structure.
The millinery was incredible and naturally, stole the show.
