I finally worked out today why I just could not put an outfit together last week and blog: it’s the weather. Or rather, my reaction to it once I arrived home. The day I left New York it was 36 degrees. I got on the plane from JFK to LAX wearing a strappy, cotton, summer dress.
This morning, it was 2 degrees.
So aside from the usual jet lag, I also had to wrap my head around a winter wardrobe. I went from wearing two items of clothing (a dress and sandals) to about five upon my return (boots, jeans, shirt, coat, scarf). And it’s really thrown me! When I left it was starting to cool in Melbourne, but it certainly wasn’t the depths of winter where you would usually ease into a new season, week by week pulling out winter coats, jumpers and boots and so I found myself in the middle of a wardrobe explosion.
Anyhow I’m getting there, slowly but surely and once the exploded wardrobe situation is at hand I hope to bring you some great winter looks. Phew!
What I’m wearing:
