Tuesday of this week saw me attend the Emirates Melbourne Cup at Flemington Racecourse wearing Bretty Morley’s signature piece from his current collection. I honestly could not have dreamt (actually, I probably could have dreamt it because they are a little surreal) that I’d get to wear his work throughout the carnival and it’s made this year one of my favourites.
I haven’t really worn anything that’s been too matching this year, instead when I was thinking about what I wanted to wear I knew that it was going to be complimentary pieces that all fit together in some way- the shoes picked up on a colour in my hat, the blouse matched my jewellery, the clutch matched my shoes. It’s eclectic, but it’s the most comfortable way of dressing for me.
Anyhow, on Tuesday I was in the Emirates marquee as you can see by the photos and The Gardener and I won on Green Moon which we’d backed a couple of weeks ago at Turnbull Stakes Day which I blogged about because it was 10 degrees.
What I’m wearing:
Dress: ASOS- from this blog post!
Heels: River Island, also purchased from ASOS
Jewellery: All vintage pearls from my own collection
Hat: Brett Morley
Clutch: Olga Berg
Sunnies: Chanel
Umbrella: Wet and Windy
