Ahhh brunch in a luxury jewellery store, nice hey? And before I go on, anyone could have come along to this, I shared the invitation over on the Lady Melbourne Facebook page where I’ll often post exclusives so check it out if you so wish.
Anyhow, Canturi threw open their doors for a brunch where you could go along and meet Stephano Canturi himself and see (and touch, and wear, and drool over) their very latest collection, ‘Odyssey.’
I bumped skirts with the lovely Cecylia.com which was lovely and she’s out-blogged me already(!), see her blog post here.
Having a background in accessories I always jump at the chance for any sort of behind the scenes look at jewellery making and it was really interesting to talk to Stephano about his work process and the methods he employs to get to the end result. Sculpture, sketching and painting are all critical and he’ll be having an exhibition later in the year of 25 years worth of his artwork.
My favourite pair are below from the latest ‘Odyssey’ collection that melds together hearts, stars, butterflies and flowers as an expression of his 25 year journey through designing jewellery.
