Episode on Sydney Rd in Brunswick have gone back to their roots and started to sell only vintage clothes from Japan and Europe. For at least the past five years they have introduced new clothes into the mix and in my opinion ruined such a unique corner they had of the market place- a warehouse style store filled to the brim with the most amazing selection of second hand and vintage clothing and accessories from overseas. After a traditional dirndl? A Hugo Boss suit? Cowboy boots or silk scarves? It was a treasure trove.
An email dropped into my inbox a week or so ago to tell me that they were now selling only vintage which was their original mode of business, so I made it my business this weekend to pop in and take a look. It lived up to my expectations of what it used to be like, so I was thrilled to make the visit.
I bought this long, pure wool, electric blue cardigan/jacket for $50. Thinking that I looked nothing short of AWESOME I asked The Gardener what he thought ahead of our regular Sunday coffee date and he simply replied, ‘The Cookie Monster.’
I don’t think that’s such a bad thing really, gave me a good laugh and that’s what I’ll think of every time I wear it now.
What I’m wearing:
Glasses: Mimco
Top: I made it
Scarf: I bought it in Hong Kong
Blue cardigan: Episode
