Last week I gave you a teeny, tiny preview of my day looking through the latest collection on the books at Halcyon State.
Leigh invited me behind the scenes to take a look through some of the most amazing Australian labels she stocks including Karla Spetic, Elissa Coleman, Shakuhachi and Toto & Memi, over sponge cake cooked for the occasion by her husband’s grandmother. So special!
She supports homegrown talent, and I like to support Melbourne based businesses, especially ones that are run by smart, savvy and independent women. You can find it all on Halcyonstate.com.au, meanwhile take a look at me playing dress ups below.
Karla Spetic licensed this Roy Lichtenstein print titled ‘Holly’ to use in her latest collection for the Calliope Pop Art Skirt. I’m wearing it with the Pearl Pop Shirt and I think it’s just wonderful!
Shakuhachi Neon Pink Bind Dress worn with Bento Maxwell Jacket and MELM Design bronze cluster rings.
I fell in love with this amazing suit from Australian label Tato & Memi. You can buy the pieces separately, I’m wearing the Iznik Silk Shirt, The Gibb Jacket and the Gibb Pant. The cut is SUPERB and the fabrication such good quality. For the price, I think it’s an investment.
Once I thought I’d fallen head over heels for the Tato & Memi stuff I then spied this uh-mazing Shakhachi red, wool, felt, cape/coat. Love, true love I tell you!
I think this would be so perfect for any autumn/winter wardrobe don’t you? The colour would suit most people and the cut is unusual but wearable. I’m wearing it with Totomoto Australia jewellery which is made out of brass. Interesting and solid I can tell you.
Above is the Totomoto Australia – Cluster Passion Flower Cuff worn with Elissa Coleman – Azzedella Dress and below is a range of their jewellery.
