The ‘story’ for this blog post was supposed to be these new pants of mine. Well not new, they’re H&M and I bought they at an op-shop for $5 and they’re bright red. I just didn’t like the colours when I looked at the photos though, could be the lighting but discovered when I desaturated them that they really highlighted the top which hasn’t appeared as yet on the blog.
I bought it just before I went to Hong Kong at the Hello Sailor Vintage Fair held at Melbourne Central. It’s got a German label, no size or any other information but as it’s black and white so I just had to have it. And how well does it shine in these photos?

Aside from the column I’m writing for TheVine.com.au at the moment, I’m also thrilled to announce that I’m going to be on a panel for the Walkley Foundation MediaPass Student Industry Day in March.
This is what the website tells us, I couldn’t have rewritten it better myself so here tis’ cut and pasted for you!
“How do you begin a successful career in the media and sustain it? In 2012, The Walkley Foundation will answer this question by hosting a number of free MediaPass Student Industry Days around the country for university students. Don’t miss your chance to learn from some of Australia’s best journos, ask employers the big questions and learn what it takes to make it as a freelancer…”
I attended when I was studying journalism and it was absolutely invaluable to me. To get access to so many journalists and broadcasters in one room and be able to pick their brains (a captive audience remember!) can just open up a world of possibilities. I’m honoured to be considered for this years freelancer panel so come along and make sure you say hi!
