Halcyon hal·cy·on halkyṓn:
a mythical bird, usually identified with the kingfisher,
said to breed about the time of the winter solstice in a nest floating on the sea, and to have the power
of charming winds and waves into calmness.
Halcyon State stocks clothing, accessories and shoes from Australian and New Zealand designers. They support independent Australian and New Zealand labels and individualism in general. Fostering creativity they aim to create a fashion haven online where style is fluid and free.
Sustainability and the environment are also very important and so they’ve made sure that the beautiful pieces on their site are also made to high quality standards.
My choice from the site was the Gatsy Party Blouse from Australia label Woodford and Co. I just adore it and didn’t know about the label before Halcyon State got in contact with me to share some of the amazing labels they stock. I’ve also totally in love with the Garden Party Dress as well as the Gatsy Tux Jacket. Completely wearable but affordable: perfect.
They also have new season stock from Alex Perry, Bento (another fav Aussie label of mine!), Fairground, Fleur Wood, House of Wilde by Alice McCall, Mad Love, MELM Design, Misuzi Jewellery, Rebecca Thompson, Shakuhachi, Tato & Memi, Totomoto Australia and Woodford and Co.
I’m thrilled to tell you about this Melbourne start up by local lass Leigh Gibson who is all about supporting Australian fashion. Go forth and shop!
p.s- the rings I’m wearing in these shots are from Wanderlust & Co. J’adore!
