If you are into reading Melbourne based blogs you will probably have heard of The Design Files. Started by Lucy Feagins in early 2008 the blog is now recognised as one of Melbourne, and even Australia’s most popular blogs routinely getting 400 000 hits a month. Covering architecture and interiors to art, craft, graphic design and illustration with an Australian focus, Lucy’s most recent pursuit is an open house in Fitzroy where everything you see you can buy. Everything!
It’s somewhat of a launching pad for The Design Files online store that will open on Monday 5th December. Until that time you can visit 40 Lt Napier st in Fitzroy and see in person everything that will be online. And if you like it, you pick it up and buy it.
I had a ball wandering from room to room and discovering all manner of home wares, textiles and art work. You can also pop in for a coffee on the rooftop cafe if it takes your fancy which I plan on doing over the weekend, the house being opened officially today until Monday.
All the information you could possible need on The Design Files open house you can find here, or you can check out Lucy’s amazeballs blog.
