I haven’t done a reading list since July on the blog, which isn’t to say that I haven’t been reading but just haven’t published it. At my local op-shop they had books for $1 the other day so I picked up ‘The Constant Gardener’ which is one of my favourite books. I lent it to Lois Lane some time ago but never got it back (we’ve hugged it out, don’t worry) so have replaced it for my library.
I recently read ‘Truth’ by Peter Temple so have been looking forward to reading some of his other titles and I picked up ‘The Broken Shore’ for $1 at the same sale.
After seeming an eternity I finally watched Limitless with Bradley Cooper and in the opening credits it said it was based on the book by Alan Glynn. Not too far in I paused the DVD, went onto fishpond.com.au and bought the book. I’m reading it at the moment and so far it adheres to the cliche- the book is better than the movie.
L.P.Hartley, ‘The Hireling’ is a classic that I didn’t have so am rather excited to add it also to the library.
