Her imitable style, her passion for the Mexican way of life: there was only one Frida Kahlo but her style continues to inspire people the world over.
Fashion is cyclical and things come and go from being in vogue. All things Mexican crop up every couple of years defiantly lead by Frida Kahlo’s legacy and her unique personal style.
Garlands of fresh flowers, ethnic jewellery and brightly wound scarves are generally used to create a similar look and we can see it in Emily Bevan’s work for Marie Claire Italia’s February issue this year.
She was not about being fashionable but I think that’s part of why we look to her for inspiration- she was original and strident in her personal style and promoting an authentic Mexican way of life through the way she dressed and her artwork.
Long live Frida Khalo I say. Check it all out over on the Inner Circle!
