This week I will publish my 1000th blog post here on Lady Melbourne. After 5 years in the game I’ve hit this milestone and can hardly believe it myself.
As it is Frocktober I thought I’d take a look back this week at blog post’s that have really shaped Lady Melbourne over the years where the dress has been a focal point.
The following blog post was a real tipping point for me and the blog- when I migrated over to WordPress from Blogger I lost the comments but at the time this post generated over 50 comments.
I hope you enjoy looking back this week with me over years and years of blog posts- it’s going to be an epic week!
This blog post was first published on August 3rd, 2008. You can view it here.
It all began with this gentle readers…..
And ended with this….
You see there was so much to choose from when I went down to my local supermarket, I could have even bought silver bags which made my decision very hard- how’s a girl to decide between a cool, slate grey and a hot, shiny black?
I figured also if I got one with a drawstring closure I could do all sorts of things with the hem. Note the nice ruching detail over derriere area, complete with uneven hemline.
I have Imelda my favourite despot to thank for the inspiration, without her challenges I’d just sit around on my couch all day taking photos and getting stuck into the martinis.
Get yours now at your local Safeway for $3.09. All you’ll need is some scissors and a bit of flair. And a despot to create hilarious challenges for you of course.
