For those of you out there who do this for a living you will know that parties don’t just spring up out of no where. My 1000th blog post party took so much much work behind the scenes to make it all happen. From one off cup cakes to gorgeous cocktails here is a look at who jumped on board to help me make the event absolutely perfect.
While I was having my nails shellacked at Miss Fox about 6 months ago I mentioned that I would be publishing my 1000th blog post. It was suggested that I have a little party right there at Miss Fox and that’s really how the idea was born. If you’ve not already visited this little oasis in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD then make an appointment and get in there toot suite I say. The venue is just gorgeous as you can see from the photos below, and they do hire out the space if you have our own gorgeous event of your own.
Just add beautiful people.

Marie pictured here in the striped skirt runs a boutique event styling company called The Style Co. The biggest event that most people would know about is her work with Chris and Rebecca Judd on their epic wedding held at Carousel on new years eve. Their best work is done on beautiful weddings and smaller events so I was really thrilled to have The Style Co. on board to help me pull the event together. From individually boxed macaroons in the gift bags to placement of the cocktails I left it all up to Marie and her team. Below is the stunning result.

At the very last minute(as in two days out) I arranged with Elly of Honey I’m Home to use her gorgeous hand made vintage inspired aprons. She generously came to the fore and fitted all of the girls with her one of aprons. It made such a difference and they looked like dolls.
Cointreau supplied the cocktails so that everyone could sip on gorgeous cocktails all night. By the end of the night there was not a drop left which tells me that they must have been absolutely delicious!
CAPI Soda provided the pink grapefruit soda for the Blush cocktails as well as mineral water for the gift bags and as a non alcoholic alternative for the evening. Their tag line is ‘Refreshingly Uncomplicated’ and I have to say they were so generous and easy to work with. I love the fact that are chemical and preservative free too.
Bulmers Pear Cider was a big hit on the night and I can’t help wondering if it was because it was an unprecedented 30 degrees. It was a nice alternative to a cocktail and a delicious accompaniment to the cup cakes. Yum!

MOR provided these gorgeous hampers from the Dolce range that were the door prizes on the evening. As well they dressed the bathrooms with beautiful scented candles and hand and body lotions so the guests could be suitably pampered for the evening. It was a lovely touch.
My dear friend Kyra of Pybus PR who helped me with so many little details on the evening. She even lent me her intern Cath for the evening (pictured below) who expertly looked after the door and generally pitched in to help when I needed something.
Jill from Peony in Hawthorn with Justin and Fleur from Saison who both made the gift bags absolutely jam packed with gorgeous goodies. Les Anis de Flavigny Pastilles, Nesti Dante soaps from Saison with an Esprit de Fleurs perfume sample by Parfums Frapin provided by Peony were just a few of the gifts guests took home.
As well Peony provided a perfume lounge upstairs where guests could select to try some of the beautiful perfumes on offer at Peony. Aren’t the girls just so sweet?
It wouldn’t have been a proper Lady Melbourne party without something sweet to nibble on, so when Cup Cake Central jumped on board and said they’d like to create some special cakes for the night I could hardly believe it. Sheryl did an amazing job so next time you are in Melbourne make sure you head to Cup Cake Central so something sweet to eat.

Domain Flowers created this amazing installation as well as some little touches that sat around the venue. It sat under stairs to greet guests as they arrived at the party and was a real talking point all night. Everyone loved the test tubes(some even wanted to take them home as a souvenir!) and it was just the final individual touch that made the party nothing short of perfect.
With Yenny from Nomad Concept Store who provided a Pineda Covalin Scarf to be given away on the night with Michelle Palmer who helped to organise Miss De Jour products to be added to the gift bags.
This is my blogging intern for the evening Bee who helped me publish my actual 1000th post. She the photos you’ve had the pleasure of viewing and then helped to resize and upload so that I could publish the post at the party. She did a marvellous job don’t you think? You can check out her blog here.
