I set out for this photo to look a lot different, but even though it’s not as I planned, I’m happy with the result.
In black and white it looks much older and faded, but the colours inspired me(I know- not black and white!) so I’ve left it as is.
To answer some of your questions of late on the photography on the blog:
Who takes your photos?
I do! I have a degree in Fine Art from RMIT University, and begun my career as an artist, before switching to fashion. I have worked in fashion for the last 5 years, including running my own accessories label, and living and working overseas.
What camera do you use? Is it a digital SLR?
Currently I use a Canon Power Shot A470 7.1 mega pixel digital camera. I would love a digital SLR camera(Hello Canon if you are reading!) and it’s on my agenda this year.
What equipment do you use?
I have two tripods that help me capture all of what you see. I don’t have any lighting equipment which is why all my photos are taken in natural light. I do all my processing in Photoshop.
How can I get my photos like yours?
Well, if they are like mine, they wouldn’t be yours now would they?!
The main piece of advice I give people is to research, read books, go out and buy art and illustration magazines and become educated on what you like and how to do it.
Buy a tripod as it will improve your photography ten fold, and if you are really serious, enrol in a course.
I hope this has given some insight into my photography!
