Acacia pycantha or golden wattle is the official floral emblem of Australia, in case you didn’t know. It’s also commonly referred to as mimosa, its sweet perfume popular in posies of cut flowers selected to represent a native floral ensemble. It’s one of my favourite scents, the flowers are the brightest of yellow and seem to pulsate on the tree. And in full homage to an Australian native bushland-themed Carmen Miranda, I’m standing amid a spinney of whistling casuarina trees too, did you notice? I just love the way the wind sounds blowing through their foliage.
The Gardener and I shot these photos recently – it’s an outfit I’m hoping to wear to Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. It’s a mixture of Australian and international labels, with the hero piece being this beaded jacket from Siyona. Despite being new kids on the block, their work is really special (you can read about it in this blog post) and I’m thrilled to be representing them at fashion week.
What I’m wearing:
Jacket: Siyona
Blouse: S/W/F from REVOLVE
Skirt: Chicwish
Heels: Schutz ‘Juliana’ from REVOLVE
