My time in Hong Kong has come to a close, and so I thought it fitting to finish on what I did on my very last day in this fascinating city.
Nan Lian Garden is situated at Diamond Hill of Kowloon, taking in the full view of southeast Kowloon. It was designed and built by the Chi Lin Nunnery, built in the classical style of the Tang Dynasty (618 AD to 907 AD), on the blue print of Jiangshouju. It is the only Tang landscape garden the original layout of which can still be placed and traced today, with all the hills and rocks, water, plants and timber structures built and arranged according to classical Tang style and rules.
It was Mother’s Day when we were there and it was lovely to wander around the gardens, watching families taking in the scenery and celebrate this Hong Kong landmark.
In a similar fashion to my previous post, I knew that I wanted a really beautiful dress to honour my visit, something light and floral and of course like the rest of my trip, a local Australian designer. Limedrop’s ‘Tent Dress‘ caught my eye and I thought it would work with my Turkish jewellery bought on Sydney Rd in Melbourne. A nice international blend which is quite typical of how I like to dress.
This city is magic, I never want to leave and always look forward to discovering something new on my next trip. If you are thinking of visiting yourself then I’m told that the 2013 Hong Kong Summer Spectacular (21 June – 31 August 2013) is not to be missed, check out these links for everything you need to know on getting to and enjoying Hong Kong:
