Luxe glamour with Glomesh, Florsheim & MIEC

My previous post on Blogopolis over the weekend was as ode to Instagram but here are the proper grown up shots.

I knew that I was going to be wearing the Pyrite jewellery from Made In Earth Creations as they had kindly reached out and offered to loan me a couple of pieces. Lovely! I hadn’t seen them in person however so I couldn’t tell if they were more silver or more gold.

Knowing this I had my nails Minxed by Victoria at Miss Fox just before I left and opted for a silver and gold holographic snakeskin version. I’ve never had Minx applied before as I’m now well and truly a Shellac devotee, but the range of colours and patterns is really quite staggering. There is something quite literally, for every occasion. Not a day has gone by where someone hasn’t noticed or commented so I suppose they are doing their job at getting noticed!

Made In Earth Creations (MIEC) is an Australian owned jewellery business established in 1999 by Bunny Bedi. MIEC uses 925 sterling silver set with the finest quality natural crystals and gemstones sourced from all around the globe. I chose to wear this Pyrite ring and cluster pendant because the name pyrite is derived from the Greek, “of fire” or “in fire.” It’s honestly the most amazing mineral and I hope to showcase more of MIEC on the blog soon.

I had some money left over on a Westfield voucher and so after visiting Oscar Oscar last week to get my little make over, I popped into Florsheim shoes. I’d spied some lovely peep toe, nude heels last year in store, tried them on and walked away. Remembering that they were comfortable and all leather I thought I’d see what was on offer, and at 50% off none the less.

I walked out with these Ally heels or pumps in natural for under $80. Never pay retail gals.

They were perfect, my old trusty nude heels had been worn to death so I think these will quickly become a new staple.

Glomesh was established here in Australia in 1957 by Hungarian immigrants Louis and Alice Kennedy. It’s apt then that 2012 will see the dawn of a new era as the Grandson of late founders Louis & Alice relaunches this iconic brand. The vision that his grandparents once had will again be emulated and the brands former glory restored.

This is the ‘Alice‘ bag that has been released in ivory, burgundy, black and gold. I’ve been loaned the ivory version to wear about town and I have to say, it feels like Lady Melbourne personified in a bag. It has that lovely vintage feel with the Glomesh, luxe details in the gold but a very modern twist with the braided leather handle.

I wore it to Blogopolis and it was the cherry on top to make my outfit a sort of cream-puff luxe affair. Very special.
